American Eagle Silver Coins

Congress authorized the production of American Silver Eagle coins in 1986, and it has since been the official silver bullion coin of the United States. The Silver Eagle’s content, weight, and purity are guaranteed by the Federal Government and the US Mint. The US Mint does not sell directly to the public. American Eagle Silver Coins are best acquired from an authorized bullion dealer.

Silver eagles are only struck in the 1 oz. variety with a face value of one dollar. They are minted with one troy ounce of fine 0.9999 silver. Silver eagles can be used in an IRA program.
